Vaxholm is an idyllic town, with its charming narrow alleys, shops, restaurants, and galleries, all of which make it a delightful place to wander. The Vaxholm Fortress, an impressive structure dating back to the 1500s, was built to protect the entrance to Stockholm. On our return journey to Stockholm, we'll take a different route so you can enjoy as much of the beautiful surroundings as possible. We strongly recommend a visit to Cafe at Vaxholm hembygdsgård to experience a traditional Swedish fika (coffee).
